over, its over!
It took me 2 days to finally get a chance to blog about the end of the first phase of NS life. Have been busy enjoying life and running errands for the past 1 and a half day. Well, here it goes...
7th Dec 2005 - The day when I stepped off the island called Pulau Tekong. Definitely, there's memories there but somehow or rather, its not those that are so closed to my heart. Perhaps I'm so ready to throw everything behind and leave just like that. I still remember 30th Nov'05 when Eagles company passed out, I feel the sadness revolving around me. I felt tears welling inside me accompanied with some aching when I see them in tears. That night when I called home, I told my mum "mummy, what if I cry on the day of POP? Its like I've been through so much and finally get a chance to throw my jockey cap". Mum totally understand how I feel.
However, on the day itself, I didn't feel the like crying. Tears didn't well up. Surprise, I was. While walking down the jetty to catch fastcraft back home, I saw a fellow platoon mate who kept turning back, with tears in his eyes. I'm not bothered neither do I have the urge to turn back to take one last look at BMTC (Hopefully). Tts just like a 360degrees change in feelings compared to a week ago.
While in the fast craft, I was thinking, in the past few years, from leaving secondary school to leaving polytechnic and now leaving BMTC, secondary school days still remain one of the most memorable moments. Its like I've been through so much with a group of wonderful friends those days. I've met alot of new faces, new people in my platoon, but definitely, my heart still linger with people like esther, xiaolian, hui, en, ting, licia, nes, benny and kelly. Coz' I don't really feel close to them though we've been through shit together. And sometimes I wonder, it seems like they doesn't have a group of specific friend whom they're really close with. Every stage in their life, new friends come along and perhaps this just keeps changing. Whereas for me, I'm still sticking back to the same old fella. However, this fella knows me well, from head to toe. People whom I really call them FRIENDS.
Now, 3 months down, another 1 year and 9 months to go. I just have the urge to get back my PINK IC asap and start chasing my dream. Its just so helpless when i'm faced with the 2 years pause in my life. Nonetheless, as each and every single day past, I'm closer to my dream.
Some updates after my POP. Went JB on thurs with ting, lian and en. En was excited, as that was her virgin trip with us and virgin chop on her passport. haha! Went to shopping and eating. Had a great time there, not because I've picked up some bargains along the way, the fact is i haven't seen this pals for almost a month. More catching up next week yup. ON friday, went for my medical checkup, lots of follow up next month for cardio stress test, blood test and sugar level test.
Will be meeting esther and erjie will be joining us as well. Ben & Jerry, Ben and Jerry.... haha! Then will be going for some xmas shopping some day next week. I just love to shop for xmas gift despite the fact that there's gonna be a burnt in my wallet. Also, meeting people like Kelly next weekend. We're in the midst of planning what to do for christmas, it must be happening aite?! hehe! 2 more weeks to Christmas, 3 more weeks to a brand NEW YEAR, 1.5 months to Chinese New Year....
But for now, please pray for my postings. Results will be out next friday. =)
